Ready to get started?

One of the easiest ways to fundraise is through an online platform as it is so easy to share with people you know both friends/family and at work. You can set up your own fundraising page via ourJustGiving page by clicking ‘Fundraise for us’ at the top.

As a thank you for getting started with your fundraising, we will send you a branded cotton t-shirt so that you can look the part during your event!

Our top 5 tips for success

The sky’s the limit when it comes to fundraising activities. Do what you love and what interests you and if you can make it a challenge, all the better.

Whether it’s big or small, you will need to put some time into planning your fundraising activity. Let us know if you need any resources like banners and collection pots, and always get in touch if you need some advice.

Set a Fundraising Target. Did you know that JustGiving pages with a set target raise 46% more than other pages? Make sure to tell everyone what you’re aiming for and encourage them to help you reach it

Once you’ve picked your activity it’s time to take on the challenge and shout about it. The best way to boost your fundraising is to share what you are doing.

That first ask can be a little daunting – but remember to keep reminding people about why you’re doing what you’re doing. An engaging story can make all the difference; if you are challenging yourself- let people know how hard you are trying; if you have a personal connection to Brain Research UK- share it.

Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram are ideal for updating people about your activity and you can share your progress and lots of pictures to keep people engaged. You could even create a Facebook Event, or start a hashtag to use when you post updates.

We couldn’t fund research without you, but you couldn’t fundraise without your donors. So let people know how your fundraising activity went, thank them and let them know just what their support has meant to you and what a difference it’s making to Brain Research UK.

Did you know that 20% of donations come in after the event has happened? Don’t forget to tell everyone how your event went, and share lots of pictures to encourage those last minute donations that can help to boost your fundraising total!
