On Sunday 27th April, 300 members of Team #BrainResearch will be taking to the streets of London for the 2025 TCS London Marathon!

We are so proud of everything that this team has accomplished so far - from bake sales, to swim-a-thons, to charity shop discos - they've worked incredibly hard to raise vital funds for neurological research on top of their countless miles of training.

We can't wait to see how they get on in this last push to the start (and finish!) line!

Our inspirational team

For so many of our runners, taking on the London Marathon is much more than just a personal challenge - it's a way to honour the memory of a loved one, or to pay tribute to someone living with a neurological condition. Many members of the team are living with neurological conditions themselves, making their Marathon an even more epic achievement. Through these personal connections, every member of the team shares a deep understanding of the importance of the research they're enabling.

Rachel was diagnosed with a benign brain tumour in 2021. Running the London Marathon is a full circle moment for her; she was an avid runner before her diagnosis and it was whilst out running that she started to experience double vision, a symptom that led to her diagnosis. Running has been an important part of her recovery.

Shannon’s Marathon journey has been motivated by her Dad, Steve, who is recovering following a catastrophic brain bleed last year. She’s taking on this epic challenge as a tribute to what her beloved Dad has been through and a thank you to all those who have played a part in his recovery.

Fabien sustained a life-changing head injury at the age of16. His recovery was long and slow and he’s taking on this challenge because he knows first-hand the huge difference that research can make in understanding of neurological conditions.

Jen also suffered a head injury. She describes how learning to do less was one of the most challenging aspects of her recovery. This has made being able to run the London Marathon especially rewarding.
