A massive thank you to our supporters who help us raise awareness of our work through their efforts!
A big thank you to Ella, Baz, Isobelle, Elliot and Jesse, for taking on the Vitality Westminster Mile for Brain Research UK on Monday 2nd May. Mum of three, Ella, sustained a brain injury just before Christmas last year. Incredibly, only four months after the incident, she completed the race in 9 minutes and 29 seconds and the family raised over£300! “Just before Christmas on 21st December 2021, I tripped up my stairs at home and fell backwards resulting in a traumatic brain injury. I was taken a fair distance from home to Addenbrooke’s Hospital and spent Christmas there away from my wonderful children and family. Without the research this charity funds allowing studies into how to treat the brain hemorrhage I suffered, I would not be the person I am today. Thanks to Brain Research UK, I was able to return to my children and family and am left with minor cognitive issues and hearing difficulties, which I have learned to accept. We wanted to run and raise money for this charity as a thank you for all they do for everyone whose life so unexpectedly changes in a blink of an eye.”
Well done to Miguel, who has completed his Vitality 10K run in 60 minutes and 6seconds. We are also extremely grateful for his generous donation of £2,000 which will help to ensure that we continue to fund vital research. Thank you, Miguel!
We are grateful to returning supporter, Caitlin, a Welsh painter who has exhibited her art around the UK and US. In her latest series, named ‘Chapters’, she continued to raise funds and awareness for a cause close to her heart during the exhibition. Thank you, Caitlin!
