Acrisure, a global financial technology company, has chosen Brain Research UK as their 2025 Charity of the Year, in memory of their colleague Ian Wicks, who tragically suffered a fatal brain aneurysm in April 2024 at the age of 66.
Ian was a valued member of the Acrisure Re team, and his colleagues hope to raise £150,000 in his memory - to support vital research into neurological conditions.
The team at Acrisure has organised an exciting year of events, including a charity football tournament at Stamford Bridge, a golf day, a quiz night, and a Three Peaks Challenge. If you would like to support their efforts in memory of Ian, you can donate via their JustGiving page.
This will be our first official corporate partnership and we are looking forward to supporting the Acrisure team through 2025, to help them achieve their ambitious £150,000 target in memory of Ian.
Ian was thoughtful, kind and empathetic, and had an infectious sense of humour that brightened up every room he entered. He was a passionate lover of music and a very talented guitarist – he could often be found either practicing with his band or playing at gigs. Aside from music, he was an enthusiastic golfer and enjoyed nothing more than swapping stories and sharing laughs with his friends on the golf course. His intelligence and wit were matched only by his generosity of spirit, and his presence uplifted everyone who met him.
