On Sunday 21st April, Team #BrainResearchUK took to the streets of London and completed the 2024 London Marathon!
The weather was cold and breezy and ideal for running as 55,000 people set off from Greenwich bound for the finish line at the Mall.
We were so proud to watch our amazing team completing the 26.2 miles, a culmination of all the hard work they put in to training over the last few months. We loved cheering on each member of our team at our cheer points and offering a well-deserved thank you once they finished the race.
For many of our team running the London Marathon was not just a personal challenge but a way to honour the memory of a lost loved one, or to support a loved one currently affected by a neurological condition. Some of our runners took on the London Marathon despite having a neurological condition themselves.
Team #BrainResearchUK you are superstars. Thank you!
We cannot thank Team #BrainResearchUK enough for their incredible fundraising efforts. The monies they continue to raise will be put to immediate good use in the funding of new research, to help drive progress towards helping people with neurological conditions live better, longer.
We would also like to thank all the volunteers and families who joined us at our cheer points, encouraging our team to the finish line. Our runners could not have done it without you!
