Join #TeamBrainResearchUK and take on one of the world’s most famous half marathons to help fund life-changing neurological research.

Why run for us?

We want to give you the best possible experience so that you have a day to remember, whilst helping to raise funds for vital brain research to help people living with neurological conditions live better, longer.

We support our amazing team with:

  • Fundraising support from our dedicated team of fundraisers
  • Regular emails to keep you motivated and informed
  • A specially commissioned Brain Research UK Running Vest

How to get a place in the Great North Run

Through the organiser’s Public Ballot

The second round of the public ballot for the Great North Run opens in January. You can sign up for the reminder service on the Great North Run website so you don’t miss out.

We recommend applying through the ballot, even if you’ve already applied for a charity place. If you’re successful in the ballot, you can still join #TeamBrainResearch and make your miles matter! You’ll receive the same support as those with a charity place, and your original charity place can be offered to another runner – helping raise even more funds for neurological research.

Apply for a Brain Research UK Charity Place

To apply for a charity place, please complete our application form. We will consider a range of factors when allocating our places: personal reasons for taking part, fundraising targets and plans, as well as the order applicants have applied in.
